METL started A-One Products &
Bottlers Ltd (APBL) in 1998 with the production of PET bottles,
pure drinking water and juices. The products were instantly
successful in the market and within two years, new equipment was
installed to double the capacity. Today, the plant has the
capacity
to produce 120 million PET bottles and 5 million cartons of
beverages, annually.
In 2003, a new division was started to manufacture plastic
buckets and lids, jerry cans, blown bottles and shrink films, to
cater mainly for the packaging requirements of the METL Group
companies. In early 2005, the plastics division expanded its
activities to manufacture household items like laundry baskets,
dustbins, basins, egg trays and crates.
APBL’s next strategic development is to increase its capacities
further and to expand its portfolio of products to include milk
based products (milk, yoghurt, butter and ice-cream) and
carbonated soft drinks. |
